Payment & Deposits

Kav Bakes Cakes requires a £5 deposit for cupcakes, a £10 deposit for celebration cakes and a £50 deposit for wedding cakes. Deposits are non-refundable and secure your date in the diary only. The remaining balance must be paid by bank transfer no later than 1 week (7 days) before your collection or delivery date. Failure to meet your payment commitments may result in Kav Bakes Cakes being unable to fulfil or hand over your order. Orders placed within 1 week of the collection or delivery date must be paid in full within 24 hours. Failure to make payment within this timeframe will mean that your order is not secured and will not go ahead. By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Ordering & Payment

Your date is secured once the required deposit has been paid and received by Kav Bakes Cakes. The remaining balance must then be paid in full by the agreed deadline for your order to go ahead. Payments are accepted by bank transfer only. Please use your invoice number as the payment reference. Payment of the deposit secures your date in the diary but does not mean that changes can be made to the agreed design, size or other elements without additional charges where applicable. Failure to pay the remaining balance by the agreed deadline may result in your order being cancelled and the date released.

Designs

You have 48 hours after confirming your cake size and design to request any changes free of charge. Changes requested after this time may not be possible to accommodate. Any changes from the originally agreed design may be subject to an additional charge. Kav Bakes Cakes does not copy other cake makers' designs. All designs are bespoke and subject to our creativity and interpretation. Fresh florals are subject to seasonal availability and, where applicable, specific flower varieties and colours cannot be guaranteed. Once the cake size has been confirmed, reducing the size or quantity of your order may not result in a reduction in price, particularly where ingredients, materials or preparation have already been purchased or completed. Serving numbers are estimates based on standard portion guides and may vary depending on how the cake is cut and served.

Pricing

Quotes issued by Kav Bakes Cakes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. A quote does not constitute a booking. Your date is only secured once the required deposit has been paid and received.

Delivery

Kav Bakes Cakes operates primarily on a collection-only basis, although delivery may be available in certain circumstances. Any delivery charge will be agreed at the quotation stage, and your full delivery address must be provided ahead of the delivery date. All tiered cakes will be delivered to an agreed venue to ensure safe transportation. Where Kav Bakes Cakes delivers and sets up a cake at a venue, responsibility for the cake following completion of the agreed set-up passes to the customer or venue. Kav Bakes Cakes cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by venue staff, guests, movement of the cake or unsuitable storage or display conditions.

Collection

Cake collections take place between 10:30am–11:30am or 5pm–6pm. These collection windows are strictly adhered to. If you are going to be late, please notify Kav Bakes Cakes as soon as possible so that an alternative collection time can be arranged. Failure to notify us of your lateness may result in Kav Bakes Cakes being unavailable when you arrive. If your order is collected by someone on your behalf, responsibility for the safe transportation and handling of the cake passes to that person once the order has been collected.

Storage, Transportation & Heat

Kav Bakes Cakes will provide a suitable box for your order and advice on how to safely transport and store your cake. Customers are responsible for following the storage and transportation advice provided. Cakes and their decorations can be affected by heat, direct sunlight, humidity and unsuitable storage conditions. Once a cake has left the Kav Bakes Cakes premises, we cannot accept responsibility for damage or deterioration caused by incorrect transportation, storage, handling or unsuitable display conditions. Particular care should be taken during warmer weather and cakes should not be left in hot cars, direct sunlight or other unsuitable environments.

Damage to Cakes

Kav Bakes Cakes accepts no responsibility for any damage caused to cakes or cupcakes after they have left our premises. A suitable box will be provided for your order, along with advice on how to safely store and transport your cake. Failure to follow the advice provided may result in damage to your cake. Any issues with an order should be reported to Kav Bakes Cakes as soon as possible, with photographs provided where appropriate.

Photography

Kav Bakes Cakes photographs products for marketing and promotional purposes and reserves the right to use these photographs across our website and social media. If you do not want your cake to be photographed or shared until a specific date, please let us know when placing your order.

Allergens

Kav Bakes Cakes uses a wide variety of ingredients and works in an environment where allergens are present. We cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from allergens or cross-contamination. Customers must advise Kav Bakes Cakes of any allergies or intolerances when enquiring and before placing an order. If you have any concerns about the ingredients used in a particular product, please get in touch before ordering and we can provide relevant ingredient and allergen information to help you decide whether our products are suitable for you.

Inedible Items

Depending on the agreed design, your cake or other products may contain inedible decorations, including glitter, card toppers, dried or fresh florals and, in the case of tiered cakes, dowels. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all inedible items are removed before the cake is consumed. If you are unsure whether an item is edible, please ask Kav Bakes Cakes before serving.

Cancellation by Customers

If you need to cancel your order, please provide as much notice as possible. Deposits are non-refundable where a customer cancels an order, subject to your statutory rights. Any other cancellation charges will be based on reasonable losses incurred by Kav Bakes Cakes as a result of the cancellation, including work already completed, ingredients or materials purchased and the loss of the opportunity to accept another booking for the date. Orders cancelled within 1 week of the collection or delivery date may still require payment of the full outstanding balance where Kav Bakes Cakes is unable to reasonably replace the booking and has incurred the associated costs.

Date Rearrangements

If you need to change your original collection or delivery date, please provide as much notice as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate your new date, but this cannot be guaranteed. If we are unable to accommodate the new date, the cancellation policy above will apply.

Cancellation by Kav Bakes Cakes

In the unlikely event that Kav Bakes Cakes needs to cancel your order due to sickness or circumstances that prevent us from safely fulfilling your order, we will provide as much notice as reasonably possible. Where we are unable to fulfil your order, all monies paid to Kav Bakes Cakes for that order will be refunded in full.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about your order, please contact Kav Bakes Cakes as soon as possible following collection or delivery. Where appropriate, please provide photographs and details of the issue so that we can properly assess the situation. We will always aim to resolve any genuine issues fairly and promptly.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
